With decades of experience as a real estate investor and entrepreneur, Lew McGinnis has owned a real estate investment firm since 1965. Dedicated to helping others, Lew McGinnis has held membership on boards at numerous institutions, including St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Located in Phoenix, Arizona, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center offers patients a variety of health, social, and support services. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, the nonprofit facility also offers special advocacy for low-income individuals. In 2015, the hospital handled more than 28,000 admissions and more than 84,000 emergency room visits.

In November of 2015, members of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team and officials at the hospital stopped shaving to bring awareness for men’s health and cancer treatment. In December, participants gathered for the “Great Shave Off” at the new University of Arizona Cancer Center at St. Joseph’s to shear off the month-long growth. The effort, which raised $50,000 for the Cancer Center, was led by Derrick Hall, a prostate cancer survivor and the Diamondbacks president and chief executive officer.
